Games : minecraft buttons not working at all

I wanted to play Minecraft today but I had opened the launcher, and everything had seemed fine at first, but then I tried to click the play button (Which wasn't greyed out) but it wouldn't launch the game. I've tried re-installing it and using the new launcher, but it doesn't work. The play button isn't the only one that doesn't work, others like the profile button won't work either. Please help!
