Games : Can I get a map item that shows where other players are on a multiplayer world? [on hold]

I'm making like a holograph-type thing, and I need a way to locate other players in Vanilla Minecraft. I'd like to have a map that players can hold to see everyone's position as a dot on the map. Is it possible?
