What I really liked about it was the neutral villages that I could conquer, the trading system that I could set up, that I could continue playing after I defeated my opponents, that new kingdoms could spawn, the mining-factory-market set up, the research for advanced weaponry and that it's RTS.
Optimally I'd like to play it on the mac, but since it's an old game made for Windows, that might be hard, so any alternatives are welcome too.
