Assassin's Creed Unity is far more GPU intensive than the previous title, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag or even other games that I found visually nicer or on par, like Crysis 3, and I'm wondering just why that is.
Is it just because it has more of everything (more polygons and higher resolution textures and shadows) or does it use any new technology? Does it do anything differently? Does it have an expensive effect that's not listed in the settings? Does it have more complex shaders?
