Does Bukkit allow usage of multiple cores?
Do I need ECC memory?
Do I need to use RAMdisk?
Would raided ssd's be a better idea?
How much RAM would I need?
We have access to google fiber so network isn't an issue. Also we would like to run a multiple world server consisting of things like skyblock, a hub/lobby, factions, prison, basically similar to woodycraft but on a smaller scale.
What CPU would be ideal? Xeon E-5 1630, 2630, i7 5930k, 5960x, 4790k, e3 1270?
I am prepared to learn everything, and my team has ran a smaller ~150 slot server before, but that was on a hosted server, not our own. I personally have experience building PC's, but not much experience with servers. They just came to me to help them figure out what hardware is needed, and I figured I could come here to figure out if a bukkit server would take advantage of anything like multiple cores or ECC memory.
How is this off-topic?? I read your requirements, and this meets them. I am asking what is needed for a server not what exact components I should buy. I know how to build a PC; I just wanted to know what a minecraft server would use.
