OK, so I've never really used consoles for gaming, but I see games like Call of duty being so popular on consoles, what I can't understand is how those games are played on consoles since I can only imagine playing first person shooter games on PC using keyboard and mouse to aim. How are you supposed to aim if you don't have a mouse? I heard there are some kind of auto-aiming or something like that being used for consoles, but that would only make sense on single-player, on multiplayer that would be cheating. And still if I would imagine auto aiming wouldn't give you any feeling of actually doing it yourself, rather a feeling that something is being done for you, I mean that's like driving a simulation game with steering assistance on, which basically means you're barely doing anything yourself.
So how does it work? Do all of those games have auto aiming/targeting functions and how are those things managed when done in competetive online gaming? Because normally I don't understand how somebody aim without a mouse, and that's especially valid for online gaming, I mean if you were to aim with the contorller using analog sticks(???) you have virtually no chance to win against players using a mouse to aim? Also I've heard comptetetive people also having insane mouse sensitivities and tweaked settings to the hardest, so I would be really grateful if somebody explained this to me.
I'm not a fan of posting questions, I usually look for already available answers, but somehow I had the feeling like nobody's asking for something like this, I can't understand how other people don't have this question, it's like everybody knows it but nobody's talking about it...
