Games : Higher-than-normal latency issue

I have been having this latency and lag spike issue for quite some time, around 3-5 months, and its really annoying. Here's how it goes.

I play League of Legends frequently and I used to get solid 17ms ping between me and LoL, now I get 60-70ms and I have lag spikes every (30) seconds and I have timed it to be exact.

I have been doing 3 ping tests, all to different destinations:

• My Router = I get solid <1ms and then spikes to 400-800ms per 30 seconds.


• My ISP Gateway = 20-90ms latency with spikes over 1000ms (again per 30 seconds).


• Google = 30-90ms variation with spikes too varying over 30 seconds.

Has anyone experienced this and/or know what the source of this problem may be?

P.S. During these lag spikes, I sidestep in League of Legends (cannot control champion movements) and Razer Comms/Skype lags with noticeable difference too.
