Games : Frontend for Mame - RetroArch or QMC2?

I am new to the emulation scene and slowly putting together a sdlmame system(with xbox 360 controller using xboxdrv). This is on my gentoo system. I am currently using sdlmame .148.

I am looking for a good front end....I tried advance menu but there is a issue with the xbox 360 joystick.

So, now I am looking at ether QMC2 or RetroArch. It's a chore to install these in Gentoo, so I thought I would ask ahead of time. Which would be preferable for sdl mame? I would like:

1. joystick navigation using the xboxdrv ability to use a custom loop


2. background mp3 for background music.


3. a cool preview screen if possible
