I am currently a level 7 Barbarian on the ps4. When I first played with a friend, I became quickly bored of the repetitive button mashing. We played on Normal difficulty. When I played alone, to further understand the game mechanics, I set the difficulty to expert. I had fun from the beginning attacking and dodging enemies, luring them into chock points, activating traps, and timing the use of powers. Now its not much fun anymore. I spend most of my time just standing still and pressing the attack button.
It's a fine line to make a game interesting, but not overwhelmingly challenging. I could strip off my gear and try to dodge more often, and then attack, but there are too many situations where the AI swarms the player with enemies and the player cannot escape, thus the player must resort to standing still and hoping that the player has power ups to crowd control. By the way, I have yet to receive a power that actually pushes enemies away or allows me to get away from a crowd swarm.
How does one make Diablo 3 tactically more interesting as the player?
