According to This Guide, if your Love Level for a 1st Gen Girl is at 10 and you haven't gotten married you can steal her from her default groom on their wedding day
If you play for long enough, you're able to actually see the default marriages. You can even confess to the lady during the ceremony - effectively stealing the bride! However, you can only steal the bride if you aren't already married, and the bride's Love Level is 10. Understandably, the groom isn't going to be too happy about being abandoned at the altar... his Friendship Level will drop.
From my understanding you need to complete the 9th quest of a Bachelorette to get their marriage item and the 10 quest actually marries them.
However I am wondering, if you steal a girl from the alter do you automatically marry her? or do you still need to complete their 9th and 10th quests?
